Angry Tunes: A Playlist by Erin and Jana

I, Erin, shared Kristen's post about angry music in my most recent share of Blogger LoveJana and Erin consulted and agreed to steal be inspired by Kristen's post.  We will give you our own version of a collection of "Angry Tunes".
Warning:  if you don't like explicit lyrics, this isn't the playlist or blog post for you.

1.  Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit - Judge all you want because of the band; this is a song that is a go-to for both of us when we want to listen to angry tunes.

2.  Face to Face by Sevendust - A song that calls someone a "fuck stick", a "motherfucker", and a "prick" is an angry song for us.

3.  Sick by Adelitas Way - This song is all about being "sick" in the head and "sick" of a lot of other shit too.

4.  Scum of the Earth by Rob Zombie - The title tells you enough, doesn't it?

5.  Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine - The song ends with "Fuck you! I won't do what you tell me!" about 20 times.  No exaggeration.  That alone is enough to make our list.

6.  Walk by Pantera - "Fun" fact from Erin: Pantera in Texas is the one and only concert that I got out of the pit because I thought there was a reasonably high possibility I could die.  A lot of anger was expressed at a Pantera show, folks.

7.  Mother Mother by Tracy Bonham - No real reason for this one except the screaming is cathartic.

8.  Down with the Sickness by Disturbed - A superb song that talks about demons, sickness, and madness inside of us.

9.  You Call Me a Bitch Like It's a Bad Thing by Halestorm - Enough said.

10.  One Step Closer by Linkin Park - Shout it with me: "Shut up when I'm talking to you!"

11.  Headstrong by Trapt - The chorus includes a "fun" to sing lyric "Back off I’ll take you on; Headstrong to take on anyone".

12.  Here to Die by Five Finger Death Punch - Opening lyrics: "This wasn't meant to be a love song, Matter fact this one's about hate"; he growls a little more than preferred but breaks into beautiful melodic sounds soon enough.

Tell us your favorite go-to angry tune.

  1. I can't say that I have any go-to angry music. Thinking back to the last 2-3 times that I have been angry and thinking historically back upon my life, I haven't gone to music during any of those moments. My go-to activity has been something physical, like yardwork or lugging around on heavy furniture so that I can clean behind it. The running joke in my house is if you come in and the house is spotless, then watch out b/c I'm probably on the warpath. LOL! Clever post!

  2. I don't have too many angry songs. I am more of a go completely silent type when I am angry!

    Some good songs though!

  4. I just listen to rock music when I'm angry. Haha. I don't have an official list, but these might be some options to add to my overall rock playlist!

  5. Yes, yes yes!!! Halestorm, Linkin Park, and old school Evanescence are my go-to's when I'm angry. Totally forgot about Headstrong and Down with the Sickness but they would be on my playlist too!

  6. Now I definitely could get behind all of those songs, especially after the crazy week that it's been at work! You can't beat old school Linkin Park! I think that I listened to that whole album on repeat in high school!

  7. I certainly have my own set of angry songs. I love Orgy's Blue Monday and Linkin Park (their older stuff).

  8. I don't know if I'm familiar with any of these songs. My go-to angry music is pretty much the entire American Idiot album. That's good stuff to crank up loud and belt out.

  9. YAAAAS. So many of these are on my angry running playlist. I slowly started my forway into "angry" music when I started listening to Marilyn Manson as a teenager. When you have a lot of aggression to get out, all the above are perfect.

  10. I love that my angry playlist inspired you guys!

Obviously I love angry music, and it's fun to see what other people choose as their go-to songs when they've had a shitty day or just feel like letting loose.

After reading your introduction, I was like, "Hmmm. Maybe I should have added a warning to my post as well. I'm pretty sure I used "fuck" in that post more than any other on my blog thus far, and at least 90% of the songs on that list have explicit lyrics." Haha. Oh well. At this point it's no secret that I swear in my blog posts on a regular basis!

  11. These are all great songs & songs on my "Rockin' Tuneage" playlist. Ha, ha!

My go-to angry song is Jekyll & Hyde by Five Finger Death Punch.

You should check out Devildriver - they have some angry, heavy tunes. I like Knee Deep. :)
