Another week, another Wednesday link-up

I confess: I feel weird about linking-up three different places on Wednesdays.  Why?  All the hosts seem supportive of each other, so I shouldn't feel weird, right?  #weirdisgood #ilikeweird

I confess:  I didn't care whatsoever about the new Star Wars.  Then, I saw the trailer when I went to see The Martian last week.  Then, I saw the Star Wars tribute on the American Music Awards (code word for cross-marketing brainwashing).  Now, my guy and I are talking about a Star Wars movie marathon before seeing the new one.  #jumpingonthebandwagon #whoami

JLo hosted the American Music Awards (even though I'd be happy if she'd never released any music herself). Yes, she has a fabulous glam squad.  Her hair, skin, and body - all amazing.  As for her wardrobe selections, I confess:  I'm bored. She has become so predictable that I could have looked at runway pictures and picked those clothes myself for her.  We get it - you like sequins and sheer things and to show us your body with strategic strips of fabric.   #AMAs #completelytotallyunderwhelmed #getanewstylist

I confess:  The only AMA performances I watched in their entirety were Alanis Morisette (#stillabadass), Gwen Stefani (#gwen4eva), One Direction (#notaguiltypleasure #becauseidontfeelguilty #babyimperfect), and Celine Dion. I don't even like Celine Dion, but she was an exceptional choice for this performance. #icried #istandwithparis

have confessed many times before that I am a book challenge junkie.  Currently, I'm only actively participating in one (Megan's #SCWBC15), but I confess:  I'm getting distracted by all the books.  I have books checked out from not one, not two, but three different libraries.  Currently, I have one reserve book waiting for me to pick up that I've been waiting for a couple of months.  Bookworms, you understand.  #booknerdsunite #gimmeallthebooks

Speaking of cross-marketing brainwashing and book challenges, categories for the book challenge that I host will be announced the 1st of December.  If you want to join the fun, join the Book Challenge by Erin group...or just keep reading my blog.  You should join.  You really should.  #ifyoudontimaycry #bookchallengesarefreeentertainment

Of course, I'm not going to post today without mentioning Thanksgiving.  I confess: for this American, it is the saddest holiday for me to be away from the USA.  There's nothing like getting together with family for food & football on a fall day and feeling thankful for many blessings.  #happythanksgiving #missyoutexas

My guy knows that I get especially sad on Thanksgiving, so he's cooking a special meal for us this weekend.  #helovesme #hegetsme #illkeephim
he's shaved his beard since we took this pic; I forgot his beard was so thick!

#BTHOLSU

This is when I'm supposed to get all gushy and tell you how grateful I am that you share a small amount of your day reading and interacting with this little space of mine in the world wide web.  Well, it's true.  I am grateful.  Happy Thanksgiving to your & yours!!!

Wednesday link-ups with Laura & LaurenAlanna & Sarah, and  Nadine & Kathy:

  2. aww i love that your hubby makes thanksgiving special for you. i wish we could trade countries for the weekend! KC is a huge star wars fan so he is excited / nervous for the new movie. i feel weird linking up more than one place, because i feel like you should visit all the links in a link up (or try to) and that's too many links for me to visit in one day haha so i just link up one place. LOVE that 'the craft' gif. best gif ever.

  3. I LOVED the Star Wars tribute by the Pentatonix. My husband is a HUGE Star Wars fan so he's totally on board with the new one. :)

  4. Well, I feel completely out of the loop. I didn't even know the AMAs were on. Where in the world have I been? #apparentlyIliveunderarock LOL! #ohwaitIrarelyturnonthetv

Enjoy your "Thanksgiving" dinner this weekend. That is sweet of him to do something special for you. Has he ever experienced Thanksgiving in Texas with your family? Just curious, if he has, what he thought about our feast/football//nap holiday.

  6. Found you through one of the linkups ! I agree with the Star Wars. Don't get it, not a big fan. And didn't watch the AMA's, but I feel like my reaction would be similar to yours about JLo. Also, I feel you #bookwormproblems. And The Craft is one of my favorite movies. Love the gif.

  7. I link-up with a million people on Wed. when I confess/hashtag, too. I think it's really convenient! Haha! I've always liked Star Wars but I feel like I could REALLY get into this movie. I like that they girls are heroes, too!

  8. I want to do a Star Wars marathon too! My husband was all adamant about seeing it the day it came out, and then he realized that he'll be hunting that weekend. So Monday after opening it is! And I can't wait for your reading challenge! Hopefully I'll be able to juggle both challenges at once! Your hubby is so thoughtful for making a special meal for y'all this week, I know it has to be super difficult to be away from family! Oh yeah, and Beat The Hell Outta LSU! They still look scary, but not as scary since they've had a couple of losses!

  9. I was going to comment on so many things and then I saw that One Direction was one of the performances you watched in whole along with the PERFECT hashtags and I'm basically screeching over here in happiness at my desk. I feel like a proud mom. Does this mean I'm kind like Star Wars and my marketing worked? ;)

  10. So jealous of J. Lo's bod. That thing is out of control incredible!!!!!!!!!!

  11. I was bored by what little I saw of the AMAs as well. I was away for 2 Thanksgivings and yea, it sucks. I couldn't find TURKEY ANYWHERE. I looked in 3 different parts of Taipei. Settled on chicken instead. By myself. Glad your hubby is making something special!

  12. Happy Thanksgiving to you! I'm so mad that the LSU/A&M game is on at the same time as Florida/FSU. I wanted to watch both...

  13. I'm a Star Wars nerd, and already have tickets to see the new one on opening day, and a timeline to watch the others before then!! We all have our "things," right?! I didn't watch the AMA's, but now I want to see those performances! And that's super sweet that he's making you a special meal! Have a great week!

  14. Looking forward to seeing the new book challenge categories. Sorry you are missing Thanksgiving but it sounds like you are getting to celebrate in your own way!

  15. what do you mean by you didn't care about star wars? how could you not? i know it's a film, and you're not as fanatical about it as i am, but... it's STAR WARS, woman. i very sincerely hope that marathon you and your boy have discussed becomes a reality and soon. and i'm glad you've boarded the bandwagon.

  16. Haha yes there are a lot of link-ups on Wednesdays, but we all love each other! I hope your thanksgiving dinner is just as special as you want it to be :)

  17. Haha yeah, don't feel weird linking to multiple places! We're all friends, which is kind of the point of blogging right?! I'm glad you've come to the light when it comes to Star Wars. We have IMAX tickets for opening night, I can't wait! It's so sweet your guy is doing something special for you since you miss Thanksgiving. I would really miss this holiday too!

  18. I recorded the AMAs and still have to watch them. I am definitely excited about some parts! Are you going to have your own little Thanksgiving in Australia? Maybe you can start a new holiday lol!

  19. Yessss One D is so not a guilty pleasure. Michael has never ever mentioned Star Wars and then suddenly when a new one was coming out he bought all the other ones and we're watching them before seeing the new one.

  20. I felt awkward about all the Wednesday linkups as well. Then I just went with the ones that were consistent and where the linkups were posted by the time I publish my post. I have never seen all the Star Wars movies and I know Teh German wants to go see the new one, but I feel like we should have a marathon first so I know what is going on, except TV watching is wayyyy too difficult, ANDDD I bought parts 1 and 2 of the final season of Mad Men on Black Friday and priorities = Mad Men > anything else on the TV.

  21. I love that picture of you two ... So sweet! Also sweet: the fact that he wanted to make sure you didn't feel like you were completely missing out on Thanksgiving by being so far from home. Awww.

Book challenges ARE awesome, but I'm also getting distracted by other books. I figured out that I could pause my holds at the library (while keeping my spot on the waiting list!), and I had to pause a couple of books. I already have too many at home that are completely unrelated to the challenge! I'm excited to see what categories you choose for your challenge, and I'll definitely be participating (just not on Facebook)! :-)

  22. I unapologetically do no care about the new star wars either. Like at all.

I love comments, and I enjoy our interactions. I respond via email, but if you're a "no reply blogger", I can't. Don't think I'm ignoring you!
