Read My Books Challenge ~ coming soon!

In April, I announced that Dani from Faster and Forever  & I are teaming up for a new book challenge that starts in June:  Read My Books Challenge with Dani and Erin

We've had some great feedback and interest.  Our fellow book lovin' and bloggin' friends, Steph and Jana, The Armchair Librarians podcast hosts AND Show Us Your Book gurus have been super supportive in spreading the word.

I feel like there are a few things to clarify; maybe this list will help:
  • Challenge is June 1st, 2016 - June 30, 2016
  • Link-up to report how you did in the challenge is the second Thursday of July the 14th
  • The objective is to finally read some of those books that you own that have been feeling neglected
  • ONLY read books (audio books, ebooks included) that you currently own already (or have downloaded already)
  • You are not required to read ALL the books you own
  • I repeat (because this has been the biggest concern/confusion) that you are not required to read ALL the books you currently own
  • Just whatever you read in the month of June should be one that you already have
  • No library books (although I love myself some library), no buying new books, no downloading or borrowing new books
  • Two Amazon gift cards will be given to randomly selected lucky winners
  • This isn't a competition for how many books you read; it's just encouragement to read your books
  • Any other questions, just ask!

Mark your calendar to start reading only books your already own from June 1st through June 30th, link-up to report your success on Thursday, July 14th, and try your luck at winning $$$ from Amazon.

Use hashtag #readmybooks on any social media sites if you want to support the challenge.  We'd love your help to spread the word to any and all of your book lovin' blogger buddies.

Do you plan to join us?

  1. Yes, ma'am. Went through my Audible library and jotted down the names of books I've had for 2+ years but have yet to read. This way I know what I'm dealing with! Have a good one!

  2. So what you're saying is I need to go buy books now so I'll already have them in June? Not like I don't have 20 waiting to be read books already. :)

  3. Yes! I can do this one I know it! I have STACKS of unread books here! I am marking it on the calendar right now!

  4. I need this push - I have HUNDREDS of books on my shelf & on my Kindle I haven't ever gotten around to

  5. so I need to read all the books I own? Man that's gonna take forever ;) Also, I bought like 15 books last week just to make sure I have plenty to read ;)

  6. I've been buying a ton of books on my Nook recently so I know that I'll have a ton of books to read for this challenge! I can't wait to see what books everybody else has lying around their house that they'll finally have a push to read!

  7. Thanks for the clarification, Erin. For some reason, I thought it started in May and ended in June, so I was all panicked because too many books! It will thrill me if I read the five books I've set aside and can move them to the read pile by the end of June.

  8. Oooh, thanks for the clarification! When you first introduced the challenge I was like, "I can't do that!! There' no way I can read all my unread books!" Haha! Good to know that I can DEFINITELY do this challenge!

  9. I plan to join! Already have my books picked out and thanks for the details!

  10. Ooo, I'm going to try. My only pitfall will be no library audiobooks. I listen to them all day at work, so it'll be hard.

  11. what the hell? one challenge isn't enough? you have to make another one that i'll NEVER, EVER finish. thanks.

  12. I am SO excited about this! I have so many books that I own and haven't yet read, but I just keep getting more. Can't wait for make a dent!

  13. Books I owned before the challenge starts, right? So books I ordered that arrived say... today would be eligible ;-)

  14. I am seriously so excited for this! I've already got my pile ready to go!

  15. I plan to work through my netgalley shelf this month and next month :) I have a few back up books laying around if I make it through that. Ohhh and about 50 books on iBooks that I downloaded and haven't read. Yup...I could do this the rest of the year and be covered hahaha but who can do that?!?!

  16. I love this and am definitely going to use June as a month to finally read a few of the books that have been sitting on my shelf (real & digital) for a while now. I have to keep up with my library books as they come in because I'm usually on hold for months for the majority of them.

  17. I have 108 unread books on my shelf. Ridiculous!

  18. WOW! I have SO many books and ebooks I haven't read yet! I think I'm in!

    1. It's purely a participation challenge. No requirement for how many you you can't really fail! :)

I love comments, and I enjoy our interactions. I respond via email, but if you're a "no reply blogger", I can't. Don't think I'm ignoring you!
