3 + 3

Steph created this...and then she did it again.  Some of you participated, and now, I am too.

Three things I'd never give up
My American citizenship (although I've entertained the idea of dual citizenship because that is possible between America and Australia), wearing fun shoes (back in the day, my faves were lime green reebok hi-tops; now, mine are sequined Converse), going to see live music (even though I don't go as often as I used to) ~ I'm going to see Guns N Roses this Friday and JET next Thursday.

Three favorite vegetables
potatoes, green peas, carrots

Three shows I watched faithfully from beginning to end
Oz, Dexter, The Sopranos - yes, HBO had me hooked for a while

Three places I want to visit inside the US
NYC (can you believe I've never been to New York?), San Francisco (and I'm going in June!), Big Bend National Park

Three places I want to visit outside the US
soooo many places, but these 3 popped into my mind first:  Queenstown NZ, Japan, Scotland

Three things I always have with me
phone, book, ponytail holder

Three things that are always in my car
coins in the center console, a blanket (because my husband likes it to be freezing), sunglasses

Three most recent phone calls were to/from
my mom, my cousin, my guy

Three books I read and loved in college

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
There Are No Children Here by Alex Kotlowitz
I was reading the early books of the Prey series by John Sandford while I was in college

Three most often used makeup products
Clinique double pressed matte powder, Make Up For Ever Aqua XL eye liner, Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara

Three things that make me laugh
my fur babies, my guy & his inappropriate humor, Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer

Three things that make me cry
homesickness, body image issues, depression

Three things I frequently forget
I can be quite forgetful, so I forget what I frequently forget

Three errands I love to run
Library day!, picking up the stepkid from school, getting my hair cut & colored

Three restaurants I want to try

The Stuffed Beaver
Brooklyn Depot
The Cut

Three famous people I'd like to meet
I'd like to have dinner with Condoleeza Rice, I'd like to have drinks with Pink, and I'd like to be friends with Drew Barrymore

Three famous people I'd like to avoid
Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian

Three things I recommend
sending care packages, Too Faced Melted Matte Liquefied Lipstick, LuLaRoe leggings (I know, I know, I'm not the first to recommend these)

Three books I loved in the elementary/junior high days:
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
Ramona Quimby books by Beverly Cleary

Three things I always look forward to
A visit to Texas, hugs from my guy, eating

Three things I always dread
hearing the alarm in the morning, getting on the scale, reading about a Trump Executive Order

  2. Had to chuckle that you named all three Kardashian sisters as people you'd like to avoid. Also, I've been really wanting to try LuLaRoe leggings!! Hopefully I can find someone to order from this summer when I visit the States.

  5. LOL I look forward to eating, too! And I also forget what I tend to forget. Glad I'm not the only one! I'm going to NYC next week for work and I don't love it but I'm excited for a dose of winter.

Same for the list of things you always have with you. ALWAYS have a hair tie. Just in case.

  7. Melissa McCarthy was FANTASTIC in that skit... the funniest I've seen in awhile.
I just love her in everything she does.

I have usually 3 ponytail holders on my wrist at all times.

  9. Melissa McCarthy nailed it on SNL. I heard it really bother Emperor Baby Fists, especially the fact that woman portrayed Spicer. LOL! That would be the part that offends him. Drinks with Pink (ha!) would be blast. And I love that you listed the Kardashians as people to avoid. Ugh. I never thought their fame would last this long. And I never been to NYC either, which I something I need to change.

  10. I can't believe that you haven't been to NYC or San Francisco, but I'm glad that you're going to cross one of those off your list this year! Thinking back, I really can't remember that many books that I read in college because I don't think that I read that many fun books because I would get distracted and not focus on school. Maybe that's the reason why Chris had no idea how much I loved to read when we got married!

  11. Oooh, I wanna do this as a post! I love that you named the Kardashians separately as people to avoid. Haha! McCarthy as Spicer was sooooo good. I kept seeing tweets from the east coast and actually waited up to watch SNL live that night. Haha!

  13. I'm just with you so much on this list! Ha. Oh Kardashians... I'd avoid them as well. I read The Secret Garden in 2015 (finally!) and loved it. I cannot handle animal books/movies though. So I could probably never read Where the Red Fern Grows. Have fun in SF! We went last year! :) We're headed to NYC this fall. :) Nothing is planned yet though... eek. XO - Alexandra

  14. I forgot about the Ramona books! I have never been to NYC either and I really want to go one day. Totally jealous of your San Fran trip too!

  15. Ickkkkk on the green peas. Lol.
I have dual citizenship with the US and Switzerland. I'm half terrified the moron in charge here is going to get (more) nervous about his penis size and force those with dual citizenship to pick. UGH. Hopefully not, though ;)
Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer is so, so great.

  16. I love sending care packages too! Very jealous about your trip to SF, it looks like such a gorgeous place. Enjoy GNR and Jet :)

  17. you should totally do the dual citizenship! i have been told i can't.. but KC could, because he was born here. the immigration guy said i'd have to give mine up. rude.
i forget what i frequently forget hahaha
homesickness and body image issues make me cry too. i won't pretend i understand depression - i don't say that lightly, hopefully you know what i mean. hugs to you.
i dread getting on the scale as well. i'm currently reading a book i am hoping will be my 'a-ha' moment, it's called intuitive eating. and i was JUST talking to KC about how i need a blanket in his car because i'm always cold - it was 30 something degrees the other day and he had the AC on. WTF?
