Add it to my list vol.2

Lauren and Bre's (relatively new) link-up is all about things we recommend, right?  Well, I recommend reading books.  I recommend talking about books that we read.  I recommend sharing books that we enjoy.  I recommend paying it forward.  And, I recommend receiving little care packages in the mail.  So...with that being said, here's a way that I'd like to combine those things I recommend and what I'd like you to add to your list...

(...inspired and finessed from ideas shared by Megan who suggested a book exchange in my book challenge group and Steph who offered last week to send books she'd read as long as you pass along the books once you've read them.)

My regular habit, after I've read a book that I own, is to exchange it at a secondhand bookstore (I'm a big fan of secondhand books) or donate it to the library or Lifeline stores.  I am willing to offer those books to my fellow book lovin' bloggers.  I will mail it to you (free of charge!) with only a few simple stipulations:
  • you don't mind when you receive it because Australia Post is not always the greatest with delivering something in a timely manner when economy post is chosen, AND if I have a lot of books to send at once, so I don't break the bank, I may scatter it out when I send them
  • you claim one of these books in the next couple of weeks; they are ready to go to a new home and they are taking up space on a floor in my already too-cluttered home
  • you actually read the book
  • you pay it forward by giving/sending a book to another reader
How great is this recommendation?  A book sharing, mail receiving, pay it forward-ing activity!  Are you interested??  Then, add one (or more) of these to your list.

Here are the following books that I have available to send to anyone who is interested (first come, first serve):

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty - CLAIMED
Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers - CLAIMED

Eat, Drink, and Be Lauren

Will you add this activity to your list?  Will you take a book, read it, and pass it along?  Will you offer up your own books that you've read that are collecting dust and you don't need to keep?

  1. Oh wow, I LOVE this idea! It reminds me of book rays on bookcrossing. And I can highly recommend Still Missing to whoever decides to take it.

  2. I am anxious to read Dark Matter (even though I know you didn't love it)...I would be happy to pay the shipping, though!! (Paypal?) I think this is SUCH a great idea.

  3. Someone grab dark matter because that's a DAMN GOOD BOOK. I gave it to my SVP and he loved it!

  4. What a fun idea!!!! I am so far behind on books right now. It's one of my hobbies that is suffering greatly with baby haha. There are a ton of great books in your stack that someone is going to love!!!

  5. YAY books! I might still be patting myself on the back for my good idea. NBD. lol

  6. What a fun and generous idea! I'm not a good paper book reader or I would take you up on this. I just hope whoever gets Big Little Lies doesn't plan to watch the show, or reads the book after. It's kind of a bummer watching the show when you know the ending already. Thanks for linking up!

  7. I'm definitely willing to take The Girl Before! I am also willing to pay for the shipping :)

  8. we're on the same page this month (pun only slightly intended). i recommended books, book clubs, and libraries lol. i'm watching the Big Little Lies series on HBO now but i didn't read the book. i might have to after the fact though even though i'll know the mystery.
i LOVE jonathan tropper. what an awesome thing to do!!!

  9. I love this! I'm a book hoarder, but I have a few that are doubles or that I just don't necessarily have a real connection with that I'd love to send along! I saw whispers about an exchange on the challenge page. I need to let people know what ones I have up for grabs (for free), too!!
(Also, if you're sending books out, I'd love to read one! Surprise me! (My top choices would be The Sisters Brothers, Big Little Lies, & A Murder In Time)

  10. I'm so intrigued that your Big Little Lies is a totally different color than the book here in the US.

  11. I'd take Missoula & pay for the shipping!

  12. HA! I talked about books today, too.

I love this idea so much and if I hadn't already read the majority of books on the list, I'd be all over it.

  13. I seriously love that you're doing this and I think that it's a great way to keep books being read! I hope that they all find good homes soon!

  14. dude i can't take any of those. you know i don't read serious shit, and so much of those look serious, BUT I DIG THIS IDEA SO MUCH THAT I'VE TWEETED IT AND WILL BLOG ABOUT IT THIS EVENING. does that make it okay?

  15. okay. i take secret life of bees, please. thank you, ma'am.

  16. I'll take Kill Your Friends please.

    I'll post my offerings soon.

  17. i love this! you're so awesome. i need to do this instead of donating to goodwill or whatever. (sure you don't mind holding on to that one for me? i already forgot what one it was!)

  18. I love this idea. The only one I would have technically wanted was Dark Matter, but it's claimed :/ I've read all the others I'm interested in!

  19. This is such a fun idea! I want to join. I definitely was slow on the uptick for this so missed out on the Rena book. Until then, I should probably take a picture of my books and see about forwarding them along :) Love this!

  20. Anyone claimed A Murder in Time yet? If not, I'd love it! Let me know, I can do the shipping or whatever! XO - Alexandra

    Simply Alexandra: My Favorite Things

  21. Love this idea so much! I'm surprised no one has claimed Big Little Lies yet, especially because of the show. I've never read Jonathan Tropper but I've wanted to and always hear great things. Is Everything Changes still up for grabs? Or Some Girls Are? I can pay shipping too!

  22. Okay, I just said that I needed to read it, so I will claim Big Little Lies if no one else has! This is a great idea. I will have to look what books I can forward along!

  23. So many books already claimed! Ah well, I love this idea. How sweet of you to pass the book love around.

I love comments, and I enjoy our interactions. I respond via email, but if you're a "no reply blogger", I can't. Don't think I'm ignoring you!
