Sunday's Seven Snapshots vol.49

When I get my hair done, I take lots of selfies.  No shame.

It's that time of year...to decorate, sing, gift, cook, celebrate, go to parties, shop, and spread Christmas cheer.  It is also the time of year when those of us who work/own retail stores are driven a little mad.

On Thursday, a friend of mine posted on facebook (rather eloquently) about being grateful and focusing on giving back to others less fortunate.  On Friday, with his words still ringing in my ears, I passed a "giving tree".  I turned around and grabbed two cards to give gifts to a couple of kids in need.  It's not much, but it's such an easy thing to do to give to others.

My girl Ivy hanging out in the bookshelf.  I'd hang out in the bookshelf too (if I could fit).

Friends & family came together to celebrate Thanksgiving with me.

I can't say enough about my guy - he made everything you see here - turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing, corn, peas, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, homemade mac & cheese, salad with homemade honey mustard dressing.

My mother-in-law provided all the desserts. I just got to enjoy it all!

So much to be thankful for this week.  Leftovers for a week!  I'm thankful for that too. How about you?

  1. Your guy did such a great job on Thanksgiving! It looks like it was the perfect traditional Thanksgiving in Australia! I'm loving your pink hair, so pretty! And I love the giving tree and adopt an angel! I grabbed a couple from my office, which is the least we could do for a few kids who need it on Christmas!

We have a toy drive at work, and my apartment complex is doing a canned food drive this year as well. These are definitely some easy ways to help others in need!

And your hair is awesome! :-)

  12. Looove the hair. Love it. I've always kicked around the idea of pink or blue or maybe purple and now that I'm self-employed, why not!? Your photos might be emboldening me a bit too :)

I love giving trees... I did one a few years ago and it was extremely humbling to see the things that people asked for.

  15. I never realized how much work it was to cook thanksgiving until this year, so he definitely gets props in my book for cooking all that!
I'm still super jealous of pink and I'm living vicariously through you because blue was soooo spensive and I have to keep telling myself that so I don't dye it again.. AND it took my hair a year to get normal colored again.
Our work is "adopted" 2 kids and I wish I knew what to buy. I want to contribute, but I'd rather someone tell me, ok this kid wants 1 barbie, 1 set of legos, and needs 2 packs of underwear and a heavy coat and would like an xbox. I can handle specifics. When I have to make decisions, I'm incapable.

  18. I would happily hang out in my bookshelf as well. I guess that means that I need some bigger bookshelves.
