There's a Sisterhood of Bloggers Award post floating around that I've read a few responses. One of the questions -
Who would you want to play you in a movie?
I'd want a
Texan. I got to thinkin' about Texas actresses. None really seem to suit me. What do you think?
Beyoncé - born and raised in Houston, TX. If there was a way for me to look like anyone in the world, I'd choose Beyoncé. So, maybe a movie role with her playing as me is the only way for that to happen. The resemblance is pretty close, right? Right?!
Eva Longoria - born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. I'm pretty sure I haven't been her size since I was maybe eleven. She's probably closest to my age out of this list, but there's that whole Latina thing that she is, and I'm not.
Leighton Meester - born in Fort Worth, TX, raised in other parts of the country. So, she's looks nothing like me, and she's much younger than me. Plus, I've typecast poor Leighton, and I'm no Blair Waldorf.
Kelly Clarkson - born in Fort Worth, raised in Burleson, TX. I think her only acting role was in From Justin to Kelly. Maybe movie roles aren't her strong suit. Too bad because I love myself some Kelly Clarkson. Plus, she's probably the only one with my body type.
Angie Harmon - born and raised in Highland Park, Texas. Another one that is age appropriate for casting the role as me, but even with a blond dye job and contact lenses, I'm not sure there are enough similarities.
Selena Gomez - born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. She is a lovely girl, but she was born the year
after I graduated high school. Too young.
Jerry Hall - born in Gonzales, TX and raised in Mesquite, TX. Jerry is almost 20 years older than I am. But, damn, she's cool. She's lived a cool life. Modeled. Married to Mick Jagger. Regular at Studio 54. A small part in Urban Cowboy. Owned her own Texas ranch. Acted in theatre. She's lived in England for decades, but she still sounds like a Texan, and I like that
a lot. Here's a quote from where I retrieved this photo:
"I’ve never really thought of Jerry Hall as a “natural” woman since she
often sports gaudy makeup and extravagantly tacky clothing, plus she was
married to Mick Jagger for quite a stint there, which seems to add to
the generally sleazy vibe that I’ve always caught from her."
I
think this was meant to be insulting, yet it makes me like her even more.
I choose
Jerry Hall!
Who would play you in a movie?
I love Kelly Clarkson. I have no idea who would play me in a movie, I have never really thought about it. Hmm. you have me thinking now.
ReplyDeleteoooh I like this post! You've named most of the obvious Texas girls, but I can't find one to match me either....I may have to think about this myself!
ReplyDeleteHahaha From Justin to Kelly...oy. I've been told I look like Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lawrence, and Ivanka Trump (but no one related to Donald Trump would be playing me in a movie thankyouverymcuh!). I'd probably pick J Law because I love her. Now I want to Google famous people from Oregon and Washington...there goes my entire day. :) Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good question! I have no idea, actually. I'll think on this one...
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post! I have no idea who I would pick though....
ReplyDeleteJerry Hall is a good choice, I'm going to go with Uma Thurman because I want to be played by a badass.
ReplyDeleteI typically say Ellen Page, although you'd need two of her to equal one of me. Natalie Portman might work because we're from the exact same place (literally. Same town) and dark hair and short and she's not obscenely younger than me but I'm just not that pretty. Just pick a short, dark haired chick and stick her in a fat suit and we're good.
ReplyDeleteAhhh awesome choice Missy :) I will have to do some digging to find my Mexican actress that will play in my life movie!
ReplyDeletei think it's an awesome choice!
ReplyDeletei honestly have no idea who would play me in a movie. they'd have to be (a real!!!!) australian!
I had no idea that Leighton was from Texas! If i chose another Texas girl I think I'd go for Allexis Bledel because I've loved her since Gilmore Girls, and she's from Houston!
ReplyDeleteShe is a pretty well traveled and cultured woman so not a bad pick at all. I would love Angie Harmon to pick me. I've gotten JLo in my younger days but not sure who now.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, this is fun! I don't know who I would pick...something to think about & blog later. Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteAh, but if you think about it, they'd need someone younger to play the younger version of you. Because they aren't going to portray you right at this moment. It'll be a younger you. Hence, a younger actress WOULD be appropriate. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd want Zooey Dechanel to play me. I love how quirky and spunky she is.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really fun post! I'm not sure who I would choose.
ReplyDeleteIn the past month, I've had a couple of friends tell me I look kind of like Bel Powley and Portia Doubleday. I don't really think I look like either of them, but my friends told me it was because I share some features with them (namely roundish face, huge eyes, and full lips).
I have the whole black hair/blue eyes thing going on, so maybe Zooey Deschanel would work. (My husband also has a crush on her, so there's that.)
So much fun to read! You definitely picked wisely. And it is a tough question. Not sure what my pick would be. Definitely somebody really cool and smart of course. :)) Haha. Maybe Natalie Portman although she looks nothing like me.
