Yep. I slept in a tent. Don't get me wrong, I have slept in a tent before, but it's been probably a decade since my last camping adventure.
I was told there'd possibly be a wombat sighting. I was not disappointed. This particular campsite shares its space with these funny creatures. My kind of creatures. They sleep all day and eat all night.
This is Livingston. He came to the park after surviving being hit by a car. He shattered his patella and isn't able to live in the wild anymore. He looks pretty content anyway.
We rang in the New Year by watching the Sydney fireworks (on tv) while in the comforts of our bed.
First day of 2016 was pretty perfect. There was a picnic in the park...
Now, I'm taking note from Astro and having a day of rest, relaxation, (and reading) before I go back to work tomorrow.
Happy 2016 to all of you!!
Nic Sheff/David Sheff are three of my favorite books! It looks like it was truly a wonderful week filled with lots of adventure and good memories. What a way to kick off 2016.
ReplyDeletedude. if i had the cash, i'd totally come visit you in 'stralia. that scenery, woman, is pretty damned phenomenal. and i've seen some pretty phenomenal stuff.
ReplyDeleteYour camping trip looks absolutely gorgeous! You're a much braver soul than me for actually sleeping in a tent! I honestly don't know how you got much reading done with that amazing view around you! Looks like you had a wonderful New Years! Hope you're adjusting back to work ok! I know I'll be on the struggle bus when I go back!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous scenery! I love wombats. I seriously would adopt a wombat and keep it in my house because I'm a crazy person like that.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your reading! I kept meaning to pick up one of my challenge books and then something would happen (aka sick kiddo) and then I'd be busy again!
It looks like you had a wonderful time though!
Such fun animal sightings and gorgeous scenery. Looks like a great end to 2015!
ReplyDeleteWho needs to go away when you're surrounded by all that beauty. It looks like you've had a nice break. :) I just love that pic of the momma kangaroo and her baby. That's precious. <3

ReplyDeletei don't think i've ever actually seen a joey in a kangaroo's pouch, so thanks for sharing :) and the scenic shots are just amazing!
I love camping and what a view you had! I stayed in for New Years too. Better than braving the drunken monkeys.
ReplyDeleteSeeing animals always makes me so happy. And wombats are definitely my kind of animals as well. I have never seen one in real life but I would love to meet one someday. They are fabulous creatures.
ReplyDeleteThis place is clean and has nice ambiance, more like modern than classic. Our visit was just amazing. I believe it was a treat to be at venue Houston here. It would be a treat to attend another event here.
